Job Description:
The Digital Media & Animation Department seeks qualified faculty for the Game & Interactive Design AS and BS programs. Teaching opportunities include Game Design, Interactive Design, UX design, advising senior projects, and special topics courses in areas of personal expertise. Other responsibilities include curriculum development, student advising, and university service.
The Game & Interactive Design Program is a growing program seeking to expand and provide students with the tools needed to succeed in the ever-increasing game development industry. To accomplish this, instructors teach the latest game development engines and techniques.
The Department of Digital Media & Animation serves approximately 200 students from degree programs in Digital Media & Animation, Graphic & Media Design, and Game & Interactive Design. Requirements:
Required qualifications:
Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in a relevant field, or ABD with completion date before August 2023. Candidates with a relevant MS or MA degree may be considered
Portfolio demonstrating knowledge of art and design in interactive and game design practices, as well as current design technologies
Proficiency with relevant software and languages, including the Adobe Creative Cloud, Game design software such as Unreal and Unity and HTML/CSS
Dedication to teaching and the exploration of emerging technologies
Preferred qualifications:
College-level teaching experience beyond TA
Professional experience in Game Design and/or UX Design
Record of artistic exhibition
Experience with creative coding and physical computing
Ability to teach in other relevant areas, including 3D Modeling and animation, graphic design, video production and digital foundations.
Experience with development for VR and AR technologies
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Javascript, C++ or C#
