Job Description
The Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) Assistant/Associate Dean of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS), Orange Park reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and is responsible for teaching, scientific scholarship and student progress through the pre-clinical curriculum as well as providing oversight of planning, scheduling, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of preclinical programs at DCOM, Orange Park.

Required Qualifications
*doctoral degree; and *five (5) years of related experience in post baccalaureate health related academic programs.

Preferred Qualifications
*Ph.D. degree; *post doctoral training; *experience teaching basic sciences, medical, and graduate courses.

work closely and collaboratively with the Assistant/Associate Deans of BMS in Harrogate, TN and Knoxville, TN to streamline delivery and evaluation of the preclinical osteopathic medical education curriculum;

Oversee the coordinating, scheduling and delivery of the first and second year osteopathic medical curriculum;

Job Duty
supervise the planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of designated courses for preclinical sciences;

Job Duty
work closely and collaboratively with the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs and the Assistant/Associate Deans Clinical Medicine across all DCOM locations;

Job Duty
evaluate existing goals and establish new goals for preclinical sciences in the academic programs;

Job Duty
recommend programs for the development and enrichment of unit personnel;

Job Duty
prepare requests for services, space and equipment required to execute the functions of the office;

Job Duty
routinely work with appropriate administrators, faculty and university officials to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on systemic reviews and analysis.

Job Duty
coordinate and submit the curriculum inventory/map to serve as the benchmarking and reporting tool on content, structure, delivery, and assessment of medical school curricula reported to accrediting bodies;

Job Duty
plan and submit an annual fiscal year operational budget and an annual report of basic sciences activity in progress;

Job Duty
in consultation with department chairs, assigns personnel to instructional services and related activities;

Job Duty
evaluate personnel performance and recommend personnel actions pertaining to the acquisition, promotion and/or retention and dismissal;

Job Duty
prepare required reports;

Job Duty
serve as a member of the college academic council as needed;

Job Duty
complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites; and

Job Duty
perform other duties as assigned; attend and participate in professional and organizational leadership development meetings.
