Duties and Responsibilities:
This faculty position is primarily aimed at developing the UH Physics Linear Accelerator Facility. The main focus of the position is to develop the existing linear accelerator. This program is expected to contribute and enhance one or more of the Department's research efforts in high energy physics. Other possible activities include, training students and postdocs to build and operate linear accelerators, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and serving on relevant departmental committees.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A doctorate from a college or university of recognized standing and in the field of in physics or equivalent
• Demonstrated accomplishments in the development of low energy accelerators and associated technology.
Desirable Qualifications:
• At least three years of postdoctoral experience in design and operation of MeV level linear accelerators
• Demonstrated ability to supervise student research and a clear plan and ability to attract external funding.
