Job Description:
The English and Humanities Department at Alfred State invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Technical Communication beginning in Spring 2024. This is a full-time, tenure-track position, 5-5. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Technical Writing, Technical Communication, and Writing for Emergent Media courses. Faculty are expected to also work with curriculum and course development, student advisement, program and course assessment, committee service, and ongoing professional development through scholarly activities. A strong commitment to DEI and social justice as well as experience mentoring underrepresented students is encouraged. This is an on-campus position meeting primarily in a face-to-face mode.
Requirements:
A Master's degree in English or Technical Communication at the time of appointment is required, and a Ph.D. in English or Technical Communication at the time of appointment is preferred. Clear evidence of successful teaching must be provided in application materials.
