Clinical Laboratory Scientist with Powell County Memorial Hospital Association, Inc. d/b/a Deer Lodge Medical Center (Deer Lodge, MT)
Job Description: Perform established clinical testing and procedures: Collect, process, and test laboratory biological samples including blood, stool, urine, body fluid, and specimen swabs. Interpret results, record, and communicate to physician. Work with emergency room, outpatient, clinic, and outside facilities to provide efficient and accurate laboratory results. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation. Perform quality control testing and adhere to quality assurance practices.
Job Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related. Position requires 1 year of experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Phlebotomy of patients from pediatric to geriatric age; Hospital Information System functions necessary to complete patient testing and specimen processing; Calibration, maintenance, and use of Laboratory Analyzers for each of the following: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology Microbiology, Immunohematology and PCR; Clinical testing and procedures on routine and STAT clinical specimens; Quality Control procedures including troubleshooting and remedial action; Quality Assurance practices including performance of testing on Proficiency Testing samples for regulatory compliance; and Laboratory functions (tracking and maintaining reagents, supplies and inventory, and maintaining the order and cleanliness of the lab).
State of Montana Clinical Laboratory Scientist License and ASCP certification, AMT certification, or equivalent required.
