Post-Doctoral Scientist - Process Development
Summary:
The Process Development group is looking for a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Scientist to pursue cutting-edge research in the development of photoredox catalysis and its application to large scale chemical manufacturing of small molecules.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will initiate an independent research project to develop photochemical reactions and the equipment capabilities to leverage this technology in Gilead's small molecule portfolio, with a strong emphasis on continuous processing technologies to support scaleup. The expectation is that this work will result in novel contributions to the field of photochemistry that will be of interest to both Gilead and the broader synthetic chemistry community, with a goal to publish these efforts in top tier scientific journals. The selected candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment at Gilead through a 2-year term, with an option to extend an additional third year. It also provides access to world class research facilities and the opportunity to leverage expertise and resources across multiple functional areas at Gilead.

- Candidate should possess a Doctoral degree and have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry or a related area.
- Qualified candidates must have at least one paper published or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Prior experience in the development and execution of photochemistry and applications in continuous processing are preferable, but not required.
