As Head, Digital Innovation & Analytics, you will lead the Scientific Operations Digital Innovation & Analytics (DIA) function in NIBR Scientific Operations supporting both scientific operations and broader NIBR operations community with operational analytics and digital innovation.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop innovative & targeted digital solutions to simplify and unburden processes for scientific operations functional areas and extending reach into the broader NIBR operations community.
• Deliver customized and actionable analytics to meet specific needs from end-users.
• Support standardization in program / project management tools
• Develop DIA function strategy and roadmap, identifying and resourcing high-impact initiatives across scientific operations and NIBR. Ensure transparency of strategy and efforts to leadership and lead the process of management review of the DIA project portfolio.
• Lead associates across international sites responsible for digital innovation and analytics projects, ensuring alignment of strategy and goals, coaching and career development.
• Utilize robust change management methodologies to engage stakeholders in the implementation of digital solutions. Develop, deploy, and manage communication and change management plans associated with DIA projects.
• Serve as a leader supporting customized digital solution to support NIBR’s speed via simplification effort, with the goal of decreasing the cycle-time of drug discovery through process improvement and waste reduction.
• Ensure appropriate project selection and prioritization and that resources are focused on realizing the most impactful opportunities.
• Form, lead and or coach multi-disciplinary DIA project teams and deliver on agreed milestones and targets. With business cases and resource justifications endorsed as required.
• Engage with global and cross-functional colleagues to uncover opportunities to transformdata into actionable insights and analytics.
• Build a network of practitioners across NIBR and engage with other Novartis divisions as appropriate.
• Represent Scientific Operations / digital team to external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and understanding across NIBR.

Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Bachelor's or Masters required; computer science, data science, data/digital system architecture / engineering or a life science degree.
• 10+ years working in the development of digital tools and data analytics in the context of drug discovery and scientific support/operations in a highly matrixed environment.
• Deep working knowledge of Microsoft 365, AWS technology, shell scripting & data visualization tools.
• Demonstrated experience in business analysis, data management / trending, forecasting & planning.
• Experience working with support teams/functions and operations supporting drug discovery processes as well as experience in process/operational excellence management practices (LEAN/six sigma)
• Implementation of solutions working in cloud-based environment, tool implementation; full life cycle management of digital solutions for specific customer needs.
• Credible track record of delivering results in an operations environment, including previous implementation and leadership of continuous improvement programs
• Change management / transformational projects experience and ability to influence at all levels
• Project management, design thinking, problem-solving and team development skills
• High energy, relentless optimism in pursuit of achieving outcomes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including proven track record in stakeholder engagement, training, and presentation skills.
