We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join our inflammation group. The candidate will be responsible for study the disease pathogenesis and participate in therapeutic development of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, autoimmune encephalomyelitis, and colitis. Hands on experience and substantiated knowledge with cellular immunologic techniques is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, generating and communicating data internally to support inflammatory target discovery for autoimmunity. Title will be commensurate with industrial experience and previous track record of research article/patent publication.

Primary responsibilities:

· Designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting complex experiments to support discovery research activities and project goals

· Assay development to support data driven go/no-go decision on discovery research

Qualifications & prior experience:

· BS with 10+ year's experience or MS with 8+ year's working experience

· Proficient in immune cell culture; multi-color flow cytometric analysis; and quantification of protein and/or RNA in immune cells and tissues.

· Fluency in the use of molecular techniques to evaluate signaling networks and cellular phenotypes (e.g., ELISA, western, plasmid design, transfection, transduction)

· Immunology knowledge and previous working experience in applied immunology is highly desired

· Computer literacy, especially proficiency with GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

· Excellent organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

· The ability to work independently on day-to-day responsibilities and research goals
The salary range for this position is: $129,540.00 - $167,640.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
