Open-Rank Professor of Chemistry

Southern Virginia University seeks applications for an open-rank Professor of Chemistry starting in Fall 2024. Major responsibilities include teaching, development of curriculum, undergraduate advising, and university service.

The ideal candidate will have a proven teaching record and evidence of effective teaching in small classes. The typical teaching load for a full-time instructor is 4 courses per semester. Courses in chemistry are an important part of the curriculum for the minor of chemistry, and majors of Biology and Biochemistry. Minimum of a M.S. in Chemistry or related field is required, preferred candidates will hold a PhD. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Rank will be determined on qualifications of the successful candidate.
