The Department of Medicine's Division of Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) is seeking a full-time, early career academic rheumatologist with a federally funded research grant, either an NIH K-award or a VA Career Development Award. Space and start-up funds will be proportionate to the strength of the applicant's research program. Expected faculty rank will be Assistant Professor or higher; however, final rank, tenure track status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This position is currently open, and recruitment will continue until the position is filled. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), as well as the ability to obtain an independent license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland. All candidates must be board-certified (Internal Medicine and Rheumatology) and have a strong record of research creativity and productivity. Publications in high-impact general medicine or specialty journals are required.
