About Quinsigamond Community College:

Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), the largest community college in Central Massachusetts serving over 13,000 students in degree and certificate programs, adult education and workforce development. QCC offers over 70 associate degree and certificate career options in Business, Health Care, Technology, Liberal Arts, and Human Services. Additionally, over 137 credit and 300 noncredit courses are offered online, as well as a wide variety of classroom non-credit courses, workshops, and seminars. Job Description:


General Statement

Adjunct instructors teach courses within a specific discipline to a diverse student population on our main campus in Worcester and/or at additional satellite locations within our service area. We are especially interested in instructors who are qualified to teach both algebra-based and calculus-based physics lab courses. Courses assigned are primarily day courses, and responsibilities include instructional preparation, assessment of student performance and assistance to students. Adjunct faculty will attend a limited number of faculty meetings.


Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications
  • Certificate or associate degree in Energy and Utility Transmission and Distribution or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Gas or Communication industry plus 5+ years progressive experience in Utility Construction and/or Interested applicants who may not meet the qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of principles of Energy Utility Technology.
  • Experience in teaching or training.
  • Ability to teach day, evening, or weekend classes in more than one campus location with particular emphasis on day classes in Southbridge or Worcester.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in curriculum design, assessment and college-level teaching.
