Mission or Goal of Unit: The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System programs in Rheumatology and in Allergy and Immunology are among the oldest clinical in theUSA. This unit comprises a combineddivision with allergy/immunology and rheumatology sections working towards thegoal of improving outcomes for patients with autoimmune, musculoskeletal, allergic, mast cell, eosinophil and primary immune deficiency disorders through clinical care, research, and public service,including philanthropy.
Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology is seeking a candidate for an hourly position to diagnosis and treat patients with systemicmastocytosis and mast cell activation syndromes, angioedema associated with inheritedand acquired forms of C1inh deficiency, and hypereosinophilic syndrome.
Position Responsibilities: Primary responsibility will be approximately (1) one clinic per week to provide treatment of patients with systemicmastocytosis and mast cell activation syndromes, angioedema associated withinherited and acquired forms of C1inh deficiency, and hypereosinophilic syndrome.

- Board certification in Allergy, Immunology and in Internal Medicine
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty,staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
