Faculty Positions – Geriatricians
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (MFA), an independent non-profit academic clinical practice group affiliated with George Washington University, is seeking full-time academic geriatricians for our expanding clinical programs in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Non-tenure track appointments will be made at a rank (Instructor, Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) commensurate with experience. Persons with a specific interest in leadership in inpatient geriatric medicine and ambulatory practice are invited to apply.
Our practice includes a robust inpatient geriatric consult service and accredited geriatric emergency department, an established home-based primary care program, a continuity geriatric clinic, a referral-based memory clinic, and practice sites in local continuing care communities. We are hiring a physician to become a collaborative partner in our clinical and education-focused practice, where research is also supported. Leadership opportunities exist for competitive candidates and educational opportunities abound in undergraduate and graduate medical education.
Responsibilities: Overnight telephone and weekend in-person calls are required.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must be board certified/eligible in Geriatric Medicine and licensed in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment. Applicants must have a strong interest in inpatient geriatric care, geriatric ambulatory care, community-based geriatric care, or home-based geriatric care. Applicants must have a record of providing excellent clinical care, experience training medical students, residents, and fellows in geriatrics, and an interest in quality improvement or research, as demonstrated by experience, publications, evaluations, and/or references.
Application Procedure: To apply, please complete an online faculty application at https://www.gwu.jobs/postings/105187 and upload a curriculum vitae and cover letter. Cover letters should include a brief statement of clinical, educational, and research interests. Applicants are encouraged to include a perspective related to their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Review of applications will begin on December 11, 2023, and will continue until the position is filled. Only complete applications will be considered. Employment offers are contingent on the satisfactory outcome of a standard background screening.
