Assistant Professor, Doctor of Chiropractic Program-Chiropractic Core and Clinical
The position of Assistant Professor in the Chiropractic program includes a combination of teaching, clinical supervision, advising, student evaluation, service and research.
• Faculty members are responsible for all scheduled classes. This includes, but is not limited to, planning, organizing, and informing students of the course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations and methods of evaluation including grading scales.
• Faculty must schedule and attend office hours as delineated in the AAUP agreement and faculty handbook. Faculty are also responsible for turning in grades according to the deadline established by the registrar's office.
• Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly research and/or creative activity and serve on departmental and university committees and to provide service to the community and their discipline.
• Clinical supervision of chiropractic students includes monitoring and/or reviewing of patient history and exam procedures, diagnostic procedures and results, clinical management strategies and therapeutic interventions. Clinical faculty serve as mentors to facilitate learning of clinical and administrative processes and strategies to encourage complete understanding of the multi-faceted nature of a chiropractic practice.
• Participate in student assessment in compliance with accreditation requirements and guidelines, completed appropriately and according to the Chiropractic program assessment schedule
• Participate collaboratively with other university constituents and stakeholders as appropriate
• Support and promulgate the university's mission, vision, and values
• Foster an environment of Interprofessional collaboration within the Chiropractic program, School of Health Professions, and University
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:
• Doctor of Chiropractic degree from a CCE accredited chiropractic college
• Minimum three years active practice experience
• Hold (or be eligible for) chiropractic licensure in the State of New York
• Academic rank is determined by credentials and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION:
• Also possess a Master's degree or post-graduate chiropractic designation (preferred)
• Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching at a graduate level, research, and grantsmanship.
