Description
The Yale Program on Aging in the Section of Geriatrics is looking for a well-trained Investigator in Biostatistics with strong quantitative skills for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field and enjoy being part of a collaborative team.
The position involves consultation and collaboration with clinical researchers as well as supervision of master's level analytic staff. Knowledge and experience in clinical study design, data collection, and management, and data analysis for a wide range of experimental and observational studies such as clinical trials and longitudinal studies is required. This individual will have considerable involvement in developing and writing statistical components of investigator-initiated grant applications. The ability to work independently on several different projects with a range of investigators across a variety of clinical disciplines is essential. While teaching experience is not a requirement, there is a potential for teaching of statistical/epidemiological principles to clinical researchers. Excellent oral and written communication skills along with proficiency with statistical computer languages (e.g., SAS, R, Stata) are a must. Experience working with clinical investigators is preferred.
Qualifications
Responsibilities include: 1) providing expert biostatistical/epidemiological consultation and collaboration on study design, implementation, conduct, analysis, and the preparation of protocols, grants, and manuscripts for multiple projects; 2) planning and overseeing comprehensive analyses for many types of data and types of studies; 3) supervising master's level analytic staff.
