Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy at the Associate or Full Professor Rank
The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Clinical Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct Professor series to complete research in his or her area of expertise.
The faculty member's area of research expertise should be around analytical quantitation of drugs and related compounds to support a broad array of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic research investigations. The faculty member should bring to the program considerable expertise in directing the development of state-of-the-art methods for measuring drugs in blood, plasma and within other target tissues to advance the pharmacology research of the Department. In addition, some experience and knowledge of pharmacokinetic analysis is desired to provide context for the laboratory work the applicant will be leading. The successful applicant will be based and work closely with other faculty in the Drug Research Unit, a laboratory which focuses largely on malaria and HIV clinical pharmacology. The successful applicant will have demonstrated a track record for publishing his or her research and for serving as an investigator or principal investigator on grants that support his or her research activities. The successful applicant will engage in research that bridges expertise within the Departments of the School of Pharmacy and/or School of Medicine and will collaborate with faculty based within these UCSF Departments/Schools.
Although research will be the focus for this Adjunct position, teaching will be encouraged, and the successful applicant will have demonstrated professional competence in her or his area of expertise.
* PhD degree in analytical chemistry or equivalent.
* High level experience working as an analytical chemist and leading the development of novel analytical methods to measure drugs and/or related compounds.
* Good communication skills (written and/or oral) and the experience directing members of a laboratory and interacting with faculty within a schools of pharmacy and/or medicine.
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
* Experience in pharmacokinetic and statistical analysis using WinNonlin and/or related software programs.
Applicants shall have current research grant funding (e.g., R21 or equivalent funding). Competitive applicants should also have demonstrated a track record of scholarship (e.g., publications) and collaborative work on interdisciplinary teams.

This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
