We are seeking a full time Research Program Manager for the clinical trial study (including a qualitative component) that will take place in the primary care clinics at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkin Community Physicians as well as selected community-based organizations in Baltimore City. The study is expected to run from 3/01/23 to 1/31/25.

The Research Program Manager will oversee day to day activities of the study, where they will be responsible for patient recruitment and randomization. They will also work closely with a data analyst to ensure that data are collected and recorded properly, and with the research staff at each clinic and community-based organizations to ensure that required referrals and follow up interviews with patients are successfully conducted. This position will also contribute to drafting and editing presentations and publications, including preparing and modifying tables, figures, and references for publication; these will also be opportunities for authorship and professional presentations.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Project Manager will assume primary responsibility for ensuring the timely development of all aspects of the study.
  • Working in collaboration with the study principal investigators and faculty research team.
  • Planning and running study meetings with research staff at the clinics and community-based organizations.
  • Developing study protocols and data collection instruments and systems.
  • Managing IRB application, amendments and reports; preparing and managing reports to the funder.
  • Liaising with and maintaining positive relationship with clinic leadership and staff.
  • Developing material for recruitment of physicians and other members of the provider team in qualitative aspects of the study (e.g., focus groups with provider teams and community-based organizations).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Related Master's preferred.
  • Five years related experience, including demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities.
  • Competency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • Applications should have strong skills in written and verbal communication, time management and planning.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Related Master's preferred.
  • Experience with clinical research trials and trial management is preferred.
  • Experience working in a clinic setting and with patients is helpful but not essential.
  • Experience with REDCap, Qualtrics, and EPIC is helpful.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
