Overview
This person will be responsible for educational leadership, student instruction, and student advising in the Communications and Literature Department.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
  • Master's Degree in Speech Communication or closely related discipline. Required
  • Additional coursework or certification in English Composition or Master's Degree in Rhetoric/English Composition. Preferred
  • Doctorate in Speech Communication, Rhetoric, Composition or English. Preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • Two (2) years equivalent successful full-time teaching experience in Speech Communication at the College level (i.e., >36 credit hours). Required
  • Successful experience in curriculum and course development. Preferred
  • Full-time teaching experience in teaching Speech Communication. Preferred
  • Full-time teaching experience in teaching English Composition. Preferred

ABILITIES AND SKILLS
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Required
  • Developed organizational skills. Required
  • Experience with integrating technology into the instructional process. Required


ResponsibilitiesTeach a full load (15 credits) of speech communication and English composition.Write and update course syllabi; assist with curriculum review, revision, and development.Advise, schedule, and maintain accurate records on students.Engage in professional development in discipline and instructional methodology appropriate to field of study.Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.Contribute to the betterment of the College through Department and School committee participation.Contribute to the betterment of the College through Collegewide committee participation. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2023/24 academic year is $59,299 - $77,142.The wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for full-time teaching faculty, counselors and librarians (all regular College funded positions and certain grant/contract funded positions) are determined by the negotiated Agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association. If you are currently receiving an annuity from the State or Public School Employees' Retirement System, employment at Pennsylvania College of Technology may affect your annuity status.
