The Group Ion Induced Nanostructures is looking for a

POSTDOC(F/M/D) ADVANCED FOCUSED ION BEAM APPLICATIONS

The position will be available from 1October 2024. The employment contract is limited until 30September 2028. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf. The working time amounts to 39 h/week.

YOUR TASKS
  • Implementation of IBC user experiments and scientific collaboration with IBC and RIANA users
  • Develop and strengthen your own FIB centric research profile
  • Interaction with RIANA ion beam users during the preparation, implementation and interpretation of their experiments (within the RIANA project)
  • Presentation and publication of results at meetings, conferences and scientific papers
  • Outreach and user acquisition for FIB‑based materials modification and analysis

YOUR PROFILE
  • Completed university studies (PhD) in the field of solid-state physics, materials science or comparable natural sciences
  • An excellent PhD degree in physics, materials science or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in the operation of FIB instruments
  • Good knowledge of the underlying ion beam physics
  • The ability to lead the development of new experimental techniques based on FIBs
  • Very good teamwork skills with ability to collaborate with experimentalists and theorists
  • Very good English language skills (spoken and written)
