What You'll Do:

Coordinate - Oversee clinical educational experiences and integrate academic and clinical knowledge.

Instruct - Deliver top-notch didactic, lab, and classroom instruction.

Evaluate - Conduct student evaluations to ensure professional growth.

Liaise - Serve as the bridge between our college and clinical sites.

Recruit - Participate in student recruitment activities.

Lead Workshops - Coordinate engaging clinical preceptor workshops.

Accredit - Assist in the accreditation process to maintain high standards.

Innovate - Continuously review and develop clinical experiences.

What You Bring:

Education: Bachelor's degree or associate degree with current enrollment in a bachelor's program (must complete within 2 years).

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in clinical respiratory care and 2 years teaching in an accredited program.

Licensure: Valid, unencumbered Florida RRT license.

Skills: Expertise in respiratory therapy, curriculum design, program planning, and clinical education.

Knowledge: Familiarity with respiratory accreditation processes and academic/clinical coordination.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general direction, the Master Instructor - Respiratory Therapy is responsible for organizing, administering, continuously reviewing, planning, and developing clinical experiences for students enrolled in the respiratory care program. This role ensures the overall effectiveness of these experiences requires adherence to the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) contract.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Coordinate clinical educational experiences of respiratory care students.
* Integrate academic and clinical experiences.
* Ensure equitable student clinical experiences that promote safe patient management, professional behavior, and sound judgement throughout the program.
* Provide quality didactic, laboratory, and classroom instruction;
* Perform student evaluations.
* Serve as a liaison between the college and the clinical sites.
* Participate in student recruitment activities.
* Coordinate clinical preceptor workshops.
* Participate in the accreditation process as needed.
* Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree or associate degree and currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree
* Must complete Bachelor's degree within two (2) years of assuming role
* Minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience in respiratory care.
* Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in an accredited respiratory care program.
* Valid current unencumbered Florida licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
* Current knowledge and technical skills in the field of respiratory therapy.
* Proficient in instruction, curriculum design, and program planning.
* Experience in academic/clinical coordination.
* Knowledge and experience in the respiratory accreditation process.
* Demonstrate competence in clinical education, teaching, and curriculum development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard respiratory equipment and office machines, such as, computer, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.

The candidate must be academically and experientially qualified to fulfill the roles and responsibilities associated with this position.
