Orthopedic Trauma Unit
IU Health Methodist's 4S Surgical Orthopedic Trauma Unit is a highly specialized, 29-bed medical surgical unit. 4S team members are trained in the care of patients presenting with a variety of orthopedic traumas, including, but not limited to, motor vehicle/motorcycle trauma, falls, crush injuries, joint repairs and replacements, and thoracolumbar surgeries.
Nursing skills gained on this unit:
* Management of complex and varying patient diagnoses
* Time management skills
* Post operative surgical care skills
* Prioritization of care
* Become strong in foundational nursing skills
* Adept communication with the multidisciplinary team
Unit Culture Highlights:

Qualifications
* Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
* Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
* Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
* Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
* Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
