Overview:
Teach a range of at least four undergraduate courses per semester in writing, literature, and the humanities using varied modalities including in-person: traditional in-person classes; asynchronous online classes; and synchronous, remote classes via zoom. Four courses per semester required; additional classes may be available for extra compensation.
Responsibilities:
Instructor of Languages and Literature will be responsible for a wide range of activities including but not limited to the following.:
Teach a range of at least four undergraduate courses per semester in writing, literature, and the humanities per semester using varied modalities including in-person: traditional in-person classes, asynchronous online classes, and synchronous, remote classes via zoom. Four courses per semester required; Additional additional classes may be available for extra compensation.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, handouts, hands-on activities, and projects.
Be prompt and accurate in the recording and reporting of student data.
Mentor students with independent study projects.
Support students' learning goals by taking into account needs and abilities of the students, becoming familiar with academic and social support provided by the university, and provide academic advisement.
Contribute to academic life on campus by serving on college committees and participating in student recruitment activities.
Participate in ongoing professional development toward an understanding of advances and developments in the field as well as the teaching profession.
Contribute to the department's efforts to continually develop and update curriculum and active research.
Qualifications:
Education/ ExperienceA master's (Master of Arts) or terminal degree required.
Experience teaching
Record of research publication and/or clinical experience encouraged
Knowledge/ Skils/ Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Interpersonal competencies including diplomacy, professionalism, judgement, and discretion as well as the ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues.
Knowledge of and cultural sensitivity to the traditional religious values and practice of the LAS student population
Proficiency in Canvas, Zoom, and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Maximum Salary:
USD $60,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary:
USD $48,000.00/Yr.
