ABOUT THE POSITON
The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Pacific Coast campus or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. As one of the most diverse community college districts in southern California, we offer a wide range of opportunities in transfer, general education, vocational and occupational programs.
Please note: We are in search of candidates possessing the following background and experience:
* Instructors for IPC-620 Cable Harness Fabrication and Inspection. Must be able to teach to IPC-620 Standards and certify students to those standards.
* Instructors in the following areas who have at least 6 years of industrial experience in that specific area.
* Solar Installation, Design and Maintenance
* DC Motors and Generators
* AC backup power generation, diesel or CNG powered
* AC motors and transformers theory
* Title 24 lighting
* Instrumentation
* All the above work experience must have been done under guidance of the NEC

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Any Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the discipline; OR,
* Any Associate degree and six years of experience in the discipline; OR,
* the equivalent AND
Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
LOCAL EQUIVALENCY:
Eighteen (18) units of collegiate level course work to meet general education requirements in three out of five general education areas i.e.: English Composition, Communication and
Analytical Thinking, Natural Sciences, Humanities and Arts, and Social Sciences
AND
A community college certificate in Electricity or Electrical Technology of at least 40 semester
units
OR
Completion of a state-approved electrician apprenticeship program
OR
Completion of a state-approved electrician training program of no less than 1000 hours
AND
Six years work experience as a residential, commercial or industrial electrician. The six years
experience may be accrued through any combination of employment in the three specialties

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Recent community college or lower division teaching experience.
2. Expertise in field of course(s) to be taught.
3. 10+ years of experience in an electrical area where the work is required to be completed under the rules and requirements of the National Electrical Code.
