Job Title: Water Safety Instructor/Lead Shift Guard
Department: Ogden High/Ben Lomond High Pools
Pay Range: $12.91
Calendar: Year Round
GENERAL PURPOSE
Water Safety Instructor needed for the Ben Lomond Pool year-round swimming
lessons program. Applicant must hold current or pending Red Cross Water Safety
Instructor certification.
Essential Functions: Water Safety Instructors work under the supervision of the Pool Manager, Swimming Program Supervisor, and Lead Shift WSI as applicable. Primary responsibilities include the safety of swimming lessons students as lessons are taught, educating students and parents of water safety topics, develop swimming skills through effective teaching strategies and practice, plan lessons according to student needs, communicate with parents and students about swimmer progress, complete student records and certificates during swimming lesson sessions, and work as a team with other WSI's.
Secondary responsibilities include setting up and putting away items used to teach lessons, assist other WSI's as needed, register students for lessons, and attend scheduled WSI in-services. Hiring occurs on an as needed basis and is intermittent throughout the year.

- Must be a student and at least 14 years old.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (ADULT)
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience.
