The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. How You Will Achieve It
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.
- Design and implement electrical systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Provide guidance, lead/co-lead projects, manage own time to meet objectives, and plan resource requirements for projects across the department. Develop project plans, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Ensure projects are completed within approved scope, budget, schedule, and alignment with the master plan. Develop and execute project plans that include detailed scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and resource plans for automation projects.
- Work in a business partner relationship with operations to lead and manage a portfolio of high-impact, high-criticality capital projects supporting update and expansion of aseptic filling and freeze-drying operations at Pfizer's product manufacturing facility. Effectively interact with leadership and partner with Operations to establish priorities and define requirements for the portfolio of projects within the assigned area.
- Oversee the commissioning, qualification, and validation of electrical installations, adhering to GMP guidelines. Manage the commissioning, qualification, and validation of control systems, ensuring adherence to GMP, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, such as electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
- Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting electrical issues, offering timely and effective solutions.
- Engage with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality materials and services are procured for project needs.
- Design, implement, and oversee the installation of building automation systems (BAS) and electrical controls for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of BAS with existing mechanical and process control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical, automation, and process engineering projects.
- Program and configure automation systems to optimize building operations and energy management.
- Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, wiring diagrams, and operational manuals for building control systems.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for BAS-related issues.
- Conduct training sessions for operations and maintenance staff on new control systems.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in building automation technology and industry best practices. Stay abreast of technological advancements and regulatory changes in the electrical engineering field relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Maintain technical skills in the latest techniques for project management and pharmaceutical processing technology.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) as needed.
- Assist project sponsors with the preparation of Capital Project Appropriation requests (CPAs).
- Ensure our API capital investments use the best technology, have the best outcomes for our business, and align with contemporary standards.
- Serve as subject matter expert for one or more critical aseptic processing areas. Possess and maintain a working familiarity with current industry best practices in these areas.
- Lead all aspects of facility planning for the site, including facility strategies, execute facility capital projects, determine facility capital investments etc.
- Interface with engineering team to ensure project compliance with applicable Pfizer Global Manufacturing (PGM) standards, follow all PGM best practices and comply with Pfizer Quality Standards.
- Develop business plans to enable forecasting and occupant tracking system.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of proven experience in a relevant field within a regulated industry, with at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
- Subject matter expertise in National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) requirements
- Knowledgeable in FDA, EMA, GxP and ICH regulatory requirements. Good working knowledge of GxP facility/equipment validation requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software (Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Experience implementing sustainable design and building practices
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, consultants, and vendors
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams, including delegation, monitoring work completion, tracking performance against approved plans and reacting appropriately to unexpected outcomes
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex information, make sound decisions with minimal escalation, and handle ambiguity.
- Demonstrated commitment to values-based leadership
- Strong project and process management skills; knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software
