Skidmore College Economics Assistant Professor Rank

The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at assistant professor rank, beginning in the fall of 2025. Applicants must possess a strong desire to teach and pursue research in a liberal arts environment in a department with a reputation for excellent teaching. The successful candidate will teach both electives and required courses in microeconomics and econometrics. Expertise in health economics is strongly preferred. Other fields of interest are industrial organization and environmental economics. Your cover letter should address those fields in which you are prepared to teach.
The college offers excellent research support. The standard teaching load is 5 courses (18 credits) per year, normally with 2 - 3 preps. New faculty receive a course release in their first year and are eligible for a pre-tenure sabbatical. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Economics, although advanced ABDs may be considered.
We are especially interested in candidates who have experience with diverse populations who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
