Construction Instructor located in Seward!

This position is in the Alaska Vocational Technical Center Teacher's Unit (AVTECTA).

What You Will Be Doing:
As an AVTEC Instructor, you will serve as an instructional subject matter expert in construction. You will plan, develop, and deliver short-term and long-term courses in Construction Technology, Building Maintenance and Construction, and Vessel Repair and Maintenance, utilizing various instructional methodologies and delivery models to maximize access and learning by students of varying skill levels. In addition, you will participate in the development and implementation of construction based apprentice programs.

This position requires periodic travel throughout Alaska for remote delivery of courses.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field.

OR SUBSTITUTION:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the applicable field;
AND
Two years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field;
AND
Two years professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.

OR SUBSTITUTION:
An industry recognized professional certification in the applicable field;
AND
Two years of journey-level trade experience in the applicable field;
AND
Two years professional experience developing, coordinating, and presenting adult training or vocational education programs.

Special Note:
Positions in the AVTEC Instructor job class require expertise in a particular vocational field such as the culinary arts, business or office technology, applied technology, information technology, maritime operations or safety, medical services, construction, or the trades. The required training or experience for each position is unique to the assigned field of instruction.
