The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology is a world-leading neuroscience department where discoveries at the molecular, anatomical, and physiological levels are seamlessly integrated to the development of new treatments for neurological diseases.

Responsibilities:
The Piomelli lab is at the forefront of studies on cannabis and the endocannabinoid system. The lab is now looking for a Staff Research Associate who will serve as Animal Core Coordinator for our NIDA center, Impact of Cannabinoids Across the Lifespan. Working under the direction of Drs. Jung and Piomelli, the Coordinator will supervise the day-to-day distribution of animal subjects to each research project. They will perform drug treatments and conduct phenotypic profiling to verify the animals' general health status (body weight, circadian feeding and activity rhythms, body temperature), under supervision from Drs. Jung and Piomelli, and will arrange transfers from the Core to individual labs. Prior lab experience or animal handling is required, training will be provided.

Qualifications:
Required:

Animal handling

Excellent task management skills

Proficient oral and written communication

Good laboratory practice

Associates degree

At least 1 year of laboratory experience

Preferred:

Drug preparation

Bachelor's degree
