The Opportunity

Our location in Richmond, VA currently has an opportunity for a Forensic Scientist I. This role will be responsible for operating the instruments used to perform the initial analysis on urine specimens for substances of abuse with the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) mandatory guidelines and those of other regulatory organizations. Night Shift: Tues - Sat. 3 pm - 11:30 pm

What You'll Work On

Operation and maintenance of the Screening Instrument and initial review of data

Knowledge of screening methods

Troubleshoot issues with screening instruments

Adherence to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information

Adherence to all established guidelines outlined in Employee Handbook

Required Qualifications

BS degree in science or equivalent related field

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures.

Advanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentation

Advanced ability to understand certification requirements for SAMSHA, CAP-FUDT, and other relevant regulatory bodies

Basic ability to understand the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systems

Basic understanding of drugs that are tested

The base pay for this position is $14.85 - $29.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
