Under broad supervision, provide assistance to public health clinics throughout the 12 counties within District 4 Public Health. Assigned to specific clinical duties within the scope of LPN practice in public health. Act as a lead worker over specified projects or programs

All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours. Job Responsibilities

  • Administer immunizations to all age patients according established guidelines & procedures.
  • Perform annual school & daycare immunization audits.
  • Complete quarterly reports.
  • Assist with annual scoliosis screenings.
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs.
  • Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin test, in clinic and outreach events.
  • Prepares to respond to public health emergencies and responds as directed.
  • Uses computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data.
  • Participates in program planning.
  • Communicates in writing, orally, and through electronic means, with proper terminology and cultural proficiency
  • Incorporates strategies for interacting with persons form diverse backgrounds (e.g., cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, gender, age, ethnic, sexual orientation, professional, religious affiliation, mental and physical capabilities.)
  • Adheres to the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Uses individual, team, and organizational learning opportunities for personal and professional development.
Minimum QualificationsPH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 1 - (Annual salary - $33,000)Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification AND completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. No experience required.

PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 2 - (Annual salary - $35,800)Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND Two years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Public Health experience.
  • Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and interviewing patients.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking Language.
