Overview:
The Physical Therapy Department in the Lewis School of Health Sciences at Clarkson University invites applicants to apply for a full-time core faculty position as an Assistant Professor (clinical-track) physical therapy instructor. This appointment is for a full-time, 10-month position. The position is not tenurable, but includes a promotion path to Associate Professor and Professor ranks.

Responsibilities:
• 60% of the workload is teaching across three trimesters. This is an 10- month position.
• Teach MSK and orthopedics to Physical Therapy students.
• Coordinate with other anatomy instructors to maintain the clinical lab and other teaching resources.
• Supervise student research projects.
• Advise students.
• Participate in all departmental activities and service duties, including departmental meetings, recruitment activities, departmental outreach events.
• Contribute to course and programmatic outcomes assessment and continuous curricular improvement.
• Contribute as a member of the university community to institutional and professional service.
• Research and other forms of scholarship are encouraged but not required for this position.

Qualifications:
Minimal Qualifications:
• Possess a PT degree and an academic doctoral degree (PhD, DSc, DHS, EdD) or a DPT degree and an APTA board certified clinical specialization.
• Be eligible for New York state PT licensure. Other professional licensures/academic degrees may be eligible for a DPT core faculty position.
• Demonstrate expertise in orthopedics.
• Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, motivation and enthusiasm to learn and mentor students.
• Ability to work with students from diverse background and strengths.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong evidence of excellence in teaching at the graduate level and the ability to work in partnership with department chairs and program directors in continually improving the msk and orthopedics curriculum to meet the needs of health sciences students.
• Experience of student advising, and supervision of student research or other capstone experiences.
• Minimum of 4 yrs. of clinical experience and 3 yrs. of clinical teaching experience preferred (CI, SCCE).
