Salary: $8,964.00 - $10,684.00 per Month

The Department of State Hospitals is accepting applications for multiple Permanent-Full Time vacancies to the Registered Nurse (Safety) classification. The vacancies exist in various Programs within the Hospital. Positions and shift availability are limited. experience is preferred, but not required.

*As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for:*

· Administering direct nursing care and treatment.

· Providing direction and supervision to other personnel assisting in patient care.

· Assisting physicians as directed and taking independent action within professional and legal limits.

· Maintaining order and supervising the conduct of patients.

· Protecting and maintaining the safety of persons and property within the facility.

· Assisting in the training and development of other nursing personnel.

· Assist in planning, evaluating, and directing nursing care and services.

· Provide direction to other nursing personnel and ensure continuity of care across shifts.

· Perform custody tasks, including monitoring and intervening in patient behavior to maintain safety and security.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

· Possession of the legal requirements to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in California.

*Knowledge and Abilities:*

· Knowledge of professional nursing principles, hospital routine, and custody procedures.

· Ability to apply nursing techniques, observe and record symptoms and behavior, and maintain detailed records.

*Special Requirements:*

· The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.

· The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
