Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery - Adult Cardiothoracic Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time cardiothoracic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and quality outcomes. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Thoracic Surgery and should be proficient in all aspects of adult cardiothoracic surgery, by the time of hire. Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Candidates with expertise in structural heart disease and minimally invasive surgery are strongly preferred. This position will be primarily based at a major community hospital affiliate of UCSF and will have some clinical and educational responsibilities at UCSF Health.

The successful candidate will a join a well-established cardiac team in a brand new hospital in the Bay Area, and will be expected to provide leadership and guidance on strategy and outreach to grow the adult cardiac surgery service. This position will work in close partnership with hospital and UCSF leadership on program development and quality improvement initiatives. This position will also work with existing UCSF faculty on system-wide initiatives in cardiovascular care and specialized programs.

Candidates must have interest and skills in the education of fellows, residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $142,800 - $377,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
