The RNA Research Division of New England Biolabs (NEB) invites applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will be a key part of a basic research team focused on reverse transcriptases in antiphage defense. This research program seeks to identify pathways and mechanisms of uncharacterized enzymes using genetic and biochemical screening methods.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and execute novel genetic and biochemical screening methods.
- Perform cell-based assays on bacteria and bacteriophage.
- Design and implement innovative strategies for RNA and DNA sequencing.
- Write and prepare manuscripts for publication in high-quality scientific journals.
- Ph.D. in chemical or biological sciences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented and collaborative setting.
- Publication of original scientific work in high-quality journals.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience performing next-generation RNA and DNA sequencing.
- Experience with bacterial culture and genetic manipulation.
- Experience working with bacteriophage
- Experience performing protein purification and in vitro enzyme assays
