USM serves about 1,400 students at its main campus in Leavenworth, its satellite location in Overland Park, as well as online.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time, twelve-month faculty position. Responsibilities of this position include teaching students, demonstrating contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas, and participating in Program meetings and committees as appropriate. This position has the responsibility and authority to contribute to the establishment of academic regulations and to contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of the DPT curriculum.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work well at all levels in a complex and diverse environment, fostering a spirit of collaboration with faculty, colleagues, staff, administrators, and students.
- Ability to set, communicate, and complete established priorities.
- Active involvement in the physical therapy profession with an understanding of key issues in physical therapy education and contemporary treatment techniques.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Project a positive, professional, customer focused image for the university.
- Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.
- Teach 23-25 contact hours per academic year (fall, spring, summer), or equivalent in course loads as approved by the division chair and Provost.
- Ability to engage in an ongoing program of scholarship and provide service to the program and the University.
- Ability to mentor students in research and advise a student group throughout a research project.
- Active participation in student recruitment and retention to achieve program goals.
- Performs additional job related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Earned terminal academic doctoral degree (i.e. PhD, EdD, DHSc, ScD) or earned terminal professional doctoral degree and in-process for terminal academic doctoral degree.
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice physical therapy in Kansas.
- Experience teaching as a full-time ranked college/university faculty or combined teaching experiences with other professional work.
