Description:
The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory School of Medicine is seeking a Public Health Program Associate to serve as a Project Manager for a research portfolio on related to sexual and reproductive health, including a five-year research project on pregnancy loss management post Dobbs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under limited supervision, uses a basic knowledge of public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote new and creative strategies and solutions to address public health issues and challenges.
Addresses public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.
Works with programs or studies designed to evaluate the prevalence or surveillance of public health issues and the effectiveness of targeted interventions.
May provide technical assistance to organizations to include presentations, web-based resources, strategies, and educational forums to address specific public health issues.
May work with clinical study sites on patient recruitment and data collection standards. Assists with data collection and data analysis.
Contributes to proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and presentation of study findings.
May assist in designing, developing, and conducting targeted training initiatives.
May collaborate with external organizations to develop action plans and goals to achieve specific objectives.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
The team member is also expected to engage in the following specific activities:
Providing significant logistics and program support to the research portfolio and team including communication and coordination between study sites.
Works with other study staff in the implementation of project aims, data management, and the coordination of team members assisting in project development.
Assist in writing grants, progress reports, briefings, or other written material
Prepares and monitors research related budgets and monitors grant expenditures
Assist with any approvals processes with ethical review boards and subcontractors
Contribute to qualitative and quantitative analyses
Contribute to the development of manuscripts, community facing products and deliverables
Assist with the creation of high-quality presentations (and related materials) for academic meetings, stakeholders, and reports for funders on deliverables throughout the project
Supervises staff and students by orienting, training and providing performance feedback
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A master's degree in Public Health, a master of science degree in Public Health or Health Education, OR a master's degree in Development Practice OR a master's degree in another field and one year of public health experience.
PREFERRED QUALITFICATIONS:
2 years full-time work experience in relevant field
Exceptional organizational, teamwork, and written/oral communication skills and attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, remain flexible and manage time effectively
Self-starter with ability to keep up in fast-paced environment
Strong interest in sexual and reproductive health including maternal health and abortion and comfort working with sensitive topics
Ability to handle confidential information and projects with professionalism and discretion
Advanced literacy in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Strong research and analytical skills; Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis; mixed methods research studies.
Previous experience with electronic health records.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
