Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The instructor position is responsible for delivering quality educational programs to Total Transformation Institute of Cosmetology (TTIOC) students by helping develop the technical and soft skills students need to secure an entry level job in their new career.

Essential day-to-day job responsibilities include:
  • Complying with all federal, state, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.
  • Teaching theory, didactic and services / hands-on/lab components of an assigned course(s) or program according to TTIOC standardized curriculum and the course and program objectives.
  • Teaching course in accordance with the campus class schedule, including beginning and end of class, and all class breaks.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of students' attendance and students' academic grades and progress.
  • Enforcing all classroom management policies and processes, including attendance taking and program-related dress code.
  • Conducting one-on-one student advisements, course-specific student academic remediation and student coaching/tutoring.
  • Communicating with the Director of Education and Campus Director regarding students at risk for Attendance, Grades, Services and Hours. Including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
  • Developing and implementing student-centered and student engaging classroom activities and have students perform services to clients as needed by TTIOC. Use creative methods of teaching and learning for student engagement.
  • Participating in faculty meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Following applicable requirements for Continuing Education Units.
  • Maintaining professional, technical, and instructional competencies through in service trainings provided by TTIOC and independent professional development activities.
  • Meeting or exceeding student retention objectives as set by the TTIOC, Director of Education and Campus Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education and Campus Director.
  • Contact students who are not in attendance as required by the Director of Education and campus Director.
  • Perform client services if necessary or as directed, resulted from student attendance.
  • Demonstrate, coach and mentor the educational service skills and techniques to students.

Key Performance Indicators:
The instructor's performance is measured by his / her meeting student attendance expectations, attendance and participation at faculty meeting and in-service training, achieving student retention objectives as set by the Director of Education and Campus Director, and the feedback received through Student Satisfaction Surveys, Classroom Observation and Evaluations and End of Course Surveys.

Essential Experience, Education and Skillset:
  • Must have current and valid professional licensed issued by the state (TDLR).
  • Must have a High School Diploma and professional training Certificate or Diploma.
  • Preferred instructional or salon business working experience.
  • Have strong verbal communication delivery.
  • Must have level of professionalism and customer service skills.
  • Possesses the ability to work well within a team environment with students and customers.

Key Success Factors:
  • Meeting or exceeding student retention objectives as set by the Director of Education, with the minimum expectation of 95% monthly student retention.
  • Attaining 95% daily, weekly, and monthly student attendance.
  • Receiving overall positive student feedback on student satisfaction surveys.
  • Direct Reports.
  • Non-Physical and Mental Demands.
