The successful candidate will hold an MD and/or PhD, along with a habilitation in anatomy or a related field (or equivalent experience), and should be an acknowledged expert in human anatomy with extensive experience in research and teaching at the university level. Substantial leadership experience is also required.
Qualified applicants should have a proven track record of successful independent research in biomedical sciences, preferably in, but not limited to, immunology, experimental oncology, and cell biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a competitive and internationally recognized research program sustained by external funding.
A fully documented record of teaching anatomy at the university level, including macroanatomy, histology, and embryology, is mandatory. Additional experience in organizing and teaching clinical anatomy courses for external physicians and other medical professionals is desirable. Experience in the organization of introductory sonography courses for medical Bachelor students is a plus. The successful candidate will chair the Anatomy Teaching Platform and oversee the body donation program at the University of Fribourg.
