The department of Psychology and Sociology seeks applicants for Assistant/Associate Professor positions for undergraduate course instruction and possible graduate course instruction. In addition, faculty will also advise students, engage in scholarship, and participate in departmental, university, and community activities. The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours with the option of supplementing research hours obtained through grant participation for teaching instruction hours.

Job Summary

Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate or Psy.D. in Psychology, the sub-field is flexible (e.g., Educational, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Cognitive, and Social Psychology or Clinical Psychology)
- Candidates must have an earned doctorate with teaching and research interests applicable to experimental and human factors psychology broadly defined and a demonstrated commitment to continued scholarly development.
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous data analysis, teaching, and research experience.
Additional Desirable Qualification:
- Candidate must be comfortable working in an ethnically diverse rural community.

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the principles and theoretical frameworks that shape the field of Psychology.
- Experience and working knowledge of the career opportunities within the discipline..
Skills:
- Basic computer skills along with Excel and SPSS software knowledge are encouraged. Knowledge of the research process. Faculty should have good human relational skills.
Ability:
- Ability to lead student in course instruction, advise, and maintain adequate course records using Blackboard or Canvas.
- Ability to relate to students and transfer knowledge using real world lived experiences.
- Candidate must be comfortable working in an ethnically diverse rural community.
