Job Description
The Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate will join the gene therapy immunology team at the Genomic Medicine Unit to provide bench-facing expertise in support of gene therapy platforms.
Job Responsibilities
• Plan, execute and analyze in vitro / ex vivo studies using primary immune cells (from humans, mice and NHPs)
• Perform immunophenotyping using multicolor flow cytometry, FACS, and cellular immunology assays
Design and execute common cell and molecular biology and biochemical assays
• Handle and isolate RNA/DNA/protein from rodent and mammalian tissues
• Independently execute experiments from detailed protocols and analysis of raw data
• Rigorously document experimental efforts, raw and analyzed data
• Clearly communicate results and activities with supervisor and colleagues
Education & Qualifications
Must have Experience:
• Bachelor's degree with minimum of 4 year of Research Associate related experience.
• Expertise with mammalian cell culture including sterile technique, line maintenance, transfections
• Multicolor flow cytometry (FACS) - previous experience performing immunophenotyping using multicolor flow cytometry, FACS, and cellular immunology assays
Preferred Skills:
• Master's degree is strongly preferred, and minimum of 2+ years Research Associate related experience. Those candidates with PHD degrees will be considered.
• Experience with DNA and RNA isolation from cells and mammalian tissues, luminescence-based assays, PCR, ELISA/Western blot is a preferred
