Responsibilities
* Teaching medical, physician assistants and biomedical graduate students.
* Developing and maintaining a specialized research program that attracts significant extramural grant support.
* Writing papers for professional journals, and serving on various committees that support the curricular, research and other functions of the department, the college and the university.
* Opportunities for outpatient clinical practice and human subjects research are available.

These are tenure-earning positions. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications PhD and/or MD, a proven track record of excellence in creative approaches to cutting edge interdisciplinary/collaborative research, and a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service.
Preferred Qualifications
* Evidence of successful extramurally funded research programs in infectious diseases, immunology, cardiovascular and pulmonary physiology, endocrinology, pathology, metabolism, stem cell biology, or neurosciences; however, leading scientists in all fields will be considered.
* Excellent mentoring and teaching skills are highly valued, as critical contributors to our mission of training the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists.
Other Information The [Department of Biomedical Sciences](https://med.fsu.edu/biosci/home) at the Florida State University College of Medicine is in an expansion phase. We are actively seeking exceptional faculty members at all career stages to join us and be a part of our bright future
The Research and Discovery mission of the College of Medicine is facilitated by more than 150,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art laboratory space. New state-of-the art research spaces and facilities are continually being added. Departmental Core infrastructure includes resources for proteomics, genomics, advanced confocal, super-resolution and multiphoton microscopy, flow cytometry, cell culture, and laboratory animal sciences. The [Translational Science Core Laboratory](https://med.fsu.edu/translationalLab/home)) is equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and deep sequencing equipment. A 3T MRI system (Siemens MAGNETOM Prisma) dedicated to research is also available. [Current research](https://med.fsu.edu/phd/home) in the department is broadly focused on understanding the molecular bases of human health and disease. At FSU, collaborative opportunities abound within the College of Medicine and in the departments of Biological Science, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Science, Statistics, Psychology, in the Institute for Molecular Biophysics, and at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
