*Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:*This is a 75% percent teaching and 25% percent research appointment with service required for promotion, merit pay increases and tenure. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the discipline of Agricultural Engineering Technology and Agricultural Education. Emphasis areas could include: Ag Teacher Education, Metal Fabrication, Construction and Maintenance, Electric Power and Control, Power and Machinery, Structures and Environmental Control, Hydraulics and Electronics, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering courses and Agricultural Safety. In addition, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will supervise student teachers, advise undergraduate and graduate students, serve on appropriate departmental, college and university committees, participate in outreach conferences and activities and work closely with the agricultural community and industry stakeholders.

This is a nine month appointment. Opportunity for summer employment available.
*Educational Requirements for the Position:*An earned Doctorate in Agricultural Engineering Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Systems Management or a closely related field. (ABD) candidates may be considered.
*Experience Required for the Position:*Evidence of actual or potential success in teaching, research, and service is also expected. Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language are required. Must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

*Preferred Job Qualifications:*
Employment at a post-secondary institution and experience teaching AGET/AGED related courses, experience with distance education technology, teaching strategies, and Learning Management Systems (LMS) Leadership experience with AGET/AGED-type programs and student organizations.
History of graduate student mentoring and hands-on experience with statistical analysis of research data. Success in the development of a highly productive scholarly agenda, including publications in refereed journals, success in obtaining funding to support sustainable research projects and success in providing professional development workshops to stakeholder groups (i.e. agricultural science teachers, industry groups, etc.)

Three years of teaching experience in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources at the secondary education level and/or three years of industry experience related to the AGET/AGED curriculum.
*Special Instructions Summary:*The School of Agricultural Sciences has 25 full and part-time faculty, approximately 992 majors, and offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in 6 emphasis areas along with the Masters of Agricultural Sciences and an online Master of Agriculture in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Environment (SAFE) degrees. The William R. Harrell Agricultural Engineering Technology Center houses a classroom and multi-purpose laboratories utilized in theory-based lectures, experiential learning activities, and applied research. The School of Agricultural Sciences also maintains the Agriculture Center, home to the Indoor Arena, Equine Lab, state-of-the-art greenhouses at the 1,740-acre Gibbs Ranch.
