Job Details
This is an exciting position and the post-holder will provide research engagement and advocacy support to the Faculties of Engineering and Science and will have shared responsibility for schools within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences. Previous experience of the provision of research services in the Higher Education environment is essential for this role.
As the Open Access lead, the post-holder will need to demonstrate considerable experience of delivering scholarly communication advice, guidance and training. The role requires the ability to understand and interpret relevant legislation and policy for colleagues and service users and also demands high level experience of handling data including gathering, analysing and presenting statistics for reporting to University committees and external organisations.
The Research Engagement Librarian team also provide advocacy for the University’s Special Collections and the post-holder will work with the Special Collections engagement lead to promote collections and services to the research community.
The post-holder will have excellent time-management skills strong planning, organisational and communication skills and will include the need to build and maintain relationships at all levels, both internally and externally to the University.
