The Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences includes the disciplines of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, and Pharmacology. The department strives to achieve excellence in both teaching and research. The development and expansion of thematic research programmes in both basic and applied research has taken AKU to the next level on the international scene while benefiting specific health care needs of Pakistan.
Aga Khan University invites applications for a full-time position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- actively participating and contributing to the MBBS, Master, FHS-PhD Programmes and other academic activities
- involvement in the development and running of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum
- preparing exam questions, participating in question review sessions and students' performance evaluation process
- initiating independent/collaborative research projects and showcase strong commitment towards research
- engaging in scholarly activities of the Department.
Requirements
You should have:
- a PhD degree in Physiology or equivalent with an MBBS from an HEC recognized or foreign university/institution
- at least two years' of post-doctoral teaching and/or research experience
- a good track record of research publications preferably in journals of international repute.
