The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking candidates for the position of Chief of Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine. The faculty rank and track will be determined based on the chosen candidate’s qualifications. The incumbent will be part of a dynamic and successful academic team that cares for patients of all ages and with athletic abilities that range from professional and collegiate levels to weekend stars. The Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine team is a collaborative group within the Department – well aligned with the Orthopaedic Sports Surgery group for clinical care, research, and education, and is an integral part of our dynamic academic department.

Eligible candidates will have earned a MD/DO degree, have successfully completed a residency in primary care or emergency medicine, and have fellowship training and significant clinical experience in sports and musculoskeletal medicine. The candidate must also have significant research experience, ideally with a history of extramural grant funding, and proven leadership experience.

This will be a full-time appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics with clinical, research, educational, and administrative responsibilities. There are extraordinary opportunities for collaboration with the clinical and basic science programs in the department and with University-wide outcomes research efforts.
