The role

This primary purpose of this position is to carry out research in Advanced Monte Carlo methods for Spatial Point Processes.

The person

Applicants must possess a PhD in the area of Mathematics/Statistics with a specialization in Advanced Monte Carlo Methods. Applicant must demonstrate that they have expert knowledge in Advanced Monte Carlo methods and Spatial Point Processes.  In addition to having an advanced understanding knowledge of Measure Theory, the candidate must have expert knowledge in Rare-event Simulation and computing. Applicants will also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in research teams, make a solid contribution to research, and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment until July 2020 at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $ 84,878.42- $ 90,982.26p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $  97,456.09 - $ 104,464.42 p.a.).
