Chief Financial Officer
UQ Finance is responsible for enabling achievement of the University's strategic ambitions by securing UQ's financial future through expert advice, systems and support. In delivering on this, the Finance function will value professionalism and accountability. UQ has an operating budget of $1.75 billion annually.
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, and management of all aspects of Finance at UQ, as well as advising on long-term University business and financial planning, and expert advice and guidance on all financial matters. The Chief Financial Officer works closely with the University's Senior Management, Senate, and regulatory bodies. This role has 12 direct reports and overall responsibility of over 240 staff in the Finance team.
You will have professional qualifications and accreditations in accounting and finance, with significant experience in large and complex organisations. You will have proven ability in implementing strategic initiatives and managing change and transformation projects using your excellent consultative, verbal communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills to achieve your goals.
You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in driving organisational wide impacting strategy and decisions through a commercial lenses as well as an ability to effectively influence across structural boundaries. An in-depth understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements and a demonstrated ability to proactively manage risk will be important. Your highly developed analytical, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, and outstanding interpersonal and communication capabilities, are essential to achieve success.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, appointment for five (5) years, with a competitive remuneration package, with a 17% employer superannuation contribution, to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Chief Financial Officer is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, although you may be required to work out of our other Campuses as required.
