Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a wide range of IT services to over 46,000 students, 7,000 academic and general staff, and 7,000 users in the wider community. This includes providing administrative, teaching, learning and research support to our customers across UQ and beyond.
ITS is part of the Chief Operating Officer's portfolio and is responsible for all IT needs for central services within the University, which includes the campus network, internet access, audio-visual technology in central teaching spaces and more.

The role
The Security Improvements Project Officer is primarily responsible for assisting the coordination of The University of Queensland Security Improvements and Cyber Security Programme's. These critical programs has been identified to mitigate cyber security risks within the university. You will assist the Project Manager by ensuring:
- Collect and collate status updates from project teams into programme status reports
- Drafting project documentation and communications
- Coordinate the issuance of contracts, purchase orders and other documents
- Attend project meetings and distribute meeting minutes
- Utilise project scheduling and control tools
- Produce and review project material
- Produce news articles relating to cyber security awareness
The person
The successful applicant will demonstrate understanding of IT project management and have the ability to communicate with broad stakeholder groups. You will show experience in writing technical business documents, producing marketing materials and coordinating work activities.
You will have qualifications or training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in business administration, communication, marketing or other relevant field.
Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment, until December 2020 at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $75,957.07 - $81,714.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $ $83,172.99 - $ $89,477.38 p.a.).
