Admin Assistant (Body Donor Program)
The University of Queensland School of Biomedical Sciences is a distinguished centre for teaching and research in the academic disciplines of Anatomy, Developmental Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology and Pathology. The School has more than 40 full-time research and teaching staff and is one of the largest Schools of its type in Australia. It has links to other prestigious research centres on the St Lucia campus including the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI), the Institute of Molecular Bioscience (IMB) and the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN). Our diverse research provides an exciting environment for national and international research fellows and higher degree students. It is concerned with advancing the understanding of how cellular mechanisms contribute to the function of the human body in health and disease. In addition to its graduate research programs, the School teaches undergraduate students in Science, Medicine, and Health Sciences.
The purpose of this position is to provide high quality general administrative support for the operations of the School of Biomedical Sciences, encompassing the Body Donor Program (BDP) and Gross Anatomy Facility (GAF).
The Gross Anatomy Facility
The Gross Anatomy Facility is a modern scientific teaching unit which caters to almost 4,000 anatomy students each year. As well, there is flexible space for self-directed learning, and the display and practice of state-of-the-art skills in medical anatomy.
The Body Donor Program
The University of Queensland conducts a Body Donor Program through our School. This Program accepts donations of human bodies to assist the School in providing educational and research opportunities for staff and students in the health, medical and science disciplines.
Applicants should possess a diploma level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training. Strong client focus, attention to detail and knowledge of office systems and procedures are essential for this position. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent people and communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels on highly sensitive matters.

We currently have a full-time, fixed-term opportunity at HEW level 4 until June 2020. The remuneration package will be in the range of $61,179 - $65,055 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $66,991 - $71,236 p.a.).
