Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey seeks applications for full-time clinical and research faculty positions in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey with academic appointment to the Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, that could complement and expand growing programs in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with pediatric cancers and blood disorders. The Cancer Institute is part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and the Rutgers Health System at Rutgers University. Specifically, we seek:

Research – The Division seeks those with interests in laboratory science relevant to pediatric hematology or oncology. Strong candidates with backgrounds related to the prevention,   diagnosis, treatment, or basic biology of cancers and blood disorders affecting children and adolescents will be considered. New faculty are expected to establish an innovative, independent and collaborative research program addressing important, fundamental questions in the area of cancer biology.  Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged that establish collaborations with CINJ consortium faculty. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., or equivalent graduate degree. Masters training in public health or patient oriented research is preferred. Evidence of academic achievement, including manuscripts and extramural funding, will be strongly considered.

Clinical – The Division seeks a pediatric hematologist/oncologist. In addition to contributing to ongoing trial accrual, clinical candidates will also have an opportunity to potentially develop independent research initiatives with a broad range of potential clinical and internationally known basic science collaborators with strong research programs, including clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention, clinical and basic pharmacology, and Phase 1 clinical trials , as well as with the Child Health Institute of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and also participate in a broad range of teaching initiatives with medical students, housestaff, and fellows.  Fellowship training and MD required. The candidate must also be board certified in pediatrics and be board certified/eligible in hematology/oncology. Rank will be commensurate with experience and level of training.
